BIOGRAPHY

French-Italian-American musician ADRIANO SPAMPANATO is a versatile artist whose career spans conducting, vocal coaching, piano, organ, and harpsichord. A recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Fulbright Scholarship, the Drouet-Bourgeois Piano Prize (Fondation de France), and the Zellidja Scholarship (Académie Française), he performs internationally as a keyboard soloist, chamber musician, continuo player, and conductor, with a repertoire ranging from the 16th century to the present day. His appearances include major venues across Europe, North America, Russia, Japan, and India, such as Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Paris Philharmonic. His discography, which includes the recording "Aimer à Loisir" on B Records, as well as a growing catalog of diverse singles and EPs, is available on digital platforms and reaches a global audience.

As an opera conductor, Adriano’s recent engagements include Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore (Victorian Lyric Opera Company, 2026), Delibes’s Lakmé and Handel’s Alcina (Chicago Summer Opera, 2025), Handel’s Agrippina (Chicago Summer Opera, 2023), Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia (Opera Saratoga, 2022), and Donizetti’s Alina di Golconda (Neemrana Music Foundation, New Delhi, 2022). His operatic work is complemented by his role as maestro al cembalo in baroque productions and his growing reputation as a dynamic conductor on both sides of the Atlantic.

A passionate advocate for vocal music, Adriano has collaborated widely in opera, art song, and choral repertoire. He has served as pianist and vocal coach for the Cafritz Young Artists of Washington National Opera, Opera North, and the Washington National Opera’s production of Carmen. He is also pianist-organist for the Thomas Circle Singers in Washington, D.C., and works regularly with The Neemrana Music Foundation in New Delhi to promote opera in India. In 2021, his partnership with soprano Axelle Fanyo was awarded the Grand Prix Prince Rainier III of Monaco at the Nadia and Lili Boulanger International Voice-Piano Competition.
With broad experience as an organist, Adriano’s positions have included Notre-Dame de Bercy in Paris, United Methodist Christ Church (Park Avenue) in New York, and, since 2021, Associate Director of Music and Organist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia. At the Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in 2019, he was awarded the Special Prize for Best Baroque Performance.

Adriano has studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he earned four Bachelor’s degrees (piano, organ, choreographic accompanying, and musicology) and a Master’s with academic honors in collaborative piano. He has also pursued advanced training at institutions such as Carnegie Hall’s Song Studio, where he worked with Renée Fleming, and the Art Song Academy at Royaumont, collaborating with leading musicians including Julius Drake, Christoph Prégardien, and Stéphanie d’Oustrac.
