LUCA POLLASTRI, a celebrated organist and harpsichordist, has dazzled audiences worldwide with his masterful performances and collaborations, earning accolades and prestigious awards throughout his wide-ranging career.
Currently serving as the organist at Fidenza Cathedral, Luca Pollastri, began his musical journey under the guidance of Massimo Gabbi. He graduated in organ performance and composition from the “G. Frescobaldi” Conservatory in Ferrara, Italy, where he studied with Antonello Aleotti. He also earned a degree in organ performance, summa cum laude, with Francesco Tasini and Vincenzo Ninci, and studied harpsichord with Marina Scaioli. At the “Haute École de Musique” in Geneva, Switzerland, he obtained a Master of Arts in Music Performance, majoring in organ performance. In 2007, Luca won first place in the inaugural Albert Dunnig International Organ Prize in Spoleto.
Luca has performed numerous solo organ recitals to critical acclaim both in Italy and internationally. He has been invited to play at various prestigious festivals, including France (Notre Dame in Paris, celebrating the 850th anniversary of the Cathedral’s foundation); Norway (Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø, marking its 50th anniversary); United States (St. Patrick’s Cathedral); United Kingdom (Queen’s College Oxford, Sheffield Cathedral, and the Schulze Organ at Doncaster Minster); Switzerland (Cathedral of Saint-Pierre in Geneva), and Germany (St. Hedwig’s Cathedral in Berlin, Schlosskirche in Lutherstadt Wittenberg during the Martin Luther jubilee year, the Weingarten “Gabler-Orgel” at the 2006 International Organ Festival, the Riepp “Dreifaltigskeitsorgel” at the Abbey of Ottobeuren, and the Rieger Orgel at the Dom of Fulda).
As a harpsichordist, Luca has collaborated with several ensembles, including the “Orchestra Barocca di Cremona,” “Gulli Ensemble,” “Hybris Baroque Ensemble,” “Musica Elegentia Consort,” “Trigono Armonico,” and “Ensemble Barocco Voxonus.”
Additionally, Luca has recorded contemporary compositions for the EurArte label and the CD “Peregrinare in Grave and Sweet Sounds” with violonist Matteo Cicchitti for the ME Operae label. He also composes music for organ and choir.
